America's Army:
Operations

America's Army is the newest endevour of Army public relations projects. It has some of the best graphics that rival any other first-person shooter, but the main thing going for it is that it's fun, and it's free.

America's Army is a simulation of a military operation, pitting two forces against each other, assault and defense. Assault's mission is always to escape, or infiltrate certainfacilities. Defense is always trying to thrwart the assault team's plans. The most unusual feature in this game is that players are never purposefully trying to hit the US Army, to bothteams, the opposing force looks like a terrorist group, or some other enemy, and the player's team always looks like the US Army.

A lot of controversy has come over this game, being it's creators were the US ARMY. Many people claim that America's Army: Operations is a recruitment tool used to desensitized the youth to violence and gore. Which makes me think, isn't that what every shooting game rated "T" or above do anyway? Well, if you're stupid, the answer is yes. Every game rated "T" or above most likely has violence enough to desensitize anyone. The only reason this is contreversial is because of it's creators. The thing is, though, to be anywhere vaguely realistic, a game must be rated "T", or for more realism, "M".

What is America's Army: Operations?
America's Army: Operations (AAO) is a free game created by the United States Army to inform the public about opportunities in the Army. To put it simply, the Army is creating a "live fire" documentary about how the Army works, and you get to play a part in it. Some people claim it's a recruitment tool to get more people to join the army, or to desensitize the youth to make them join the army. Unfortunately, that happens on every shooting game rated T or higher, and the reason this one is getting so much attention is because the Army made it.

Where can I get this free game?
